CareCompanion
CareCompanion is a continuation of my M2.1 Project.
Building on the Preparation FMP, my Final Master Project focused on how CareCompanion could be designed as a responsible and context-relevant AI-tool for nurses. Through co-design, stakeholder interviews, ethical and legal reflection, technical exploration, prototyping, and a pilot user test, I investigated the conditions required for responsible use in a hospital context.
This shifted the focus from simply making information easier to find, toward supporting calibrated trust, professional autonomy, and safe interaction with AI-generated answers. The final outcome was a redesigned user interface and proof-of-concept prototype that communicates sources, uncertainty, limitations, and suggests follow-up actions. Rather than replacing professional judgement, CareCompanion was positioned as a supportive layer over existing hospital information systems.
